The panel focused on the topic “Transport and Supply Chains in the Mirror of Continuous Change and Uncertainty.” Special guests included Dimitar Nikolov, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications; Marieta Grigorova, long-standing Managing Director of Gebrüder Weiss EOOD; Atanas Papazov, Global Business Development Director at WTO; Ivan Aleksandrov, Founder and CEO of eBag; Ivanka Ivanova, CEO of CTP; and Tsvetin Atanasov, Head of Logistics at BILLA Bulgaria.
In their overview of the challenges facing businesses, the panelists agreed that political uncertainty is a major factor contributing to economic turbulence.
The solutions turned out to be intuitive:
- A focus on adaptability within the team - a key skill for decision-making in times of uncertainty. Human intelligence should remain a priority in the era of AI enthusiasm.
- Technology as a driver of efficiency - companies need to make technology a core part of their business rather than merely a supporting mechanism.
- A more creative and flexible approach to finding new solutions - periods of stagnation create opportunities for new market niches and innovative solutions. Although freight capacity remains difficult to predict, this uncertainty is also driving remarkable innovations in transport networks.
